Meet the 2026 Yamaha YZF‑R3 70th Anniversary Edition A Classic Livery With Supersport DNA

Yamaha Turns 70: The R3 Anniversary Edition Is Here and It Looks 🔥

Yamaha is celebrating its 70th anniversary with a special edition of its popular R3, and it looks stunning. The 2026 Yamaha R3 anniversary edition features a red and white livery that gives the bike a sporty yet classic feel. The fairing, fuel tank, and tail section showcase bold graphics, with 3D red tiles on the side panels adding depth to the design. Black accents on the front and side fairings highlight the aggressive styling, while the Yamaha and R3 logos complete the look.

Despite the visual upgrades, the bike retains the same technical specifications as the standard model. The R3 is powered by a 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine delivering 40.4bhp and 29.4Nm of torque. The diamond-type chassis rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, with non-adjustable upside-down forks at the front and a rear monoshock providing stability and comfort. Braking is handled by single discs at both ends, with ABS ensuring safety on the road. The latest edition also includes a TFT display and an assist and slipper clutch for smoother rides.

In India, the Yamaha R3 has had mixed responses, with the previous models, like the Yamaha R3 2018 ABS and the Yamaha R3 2022 modificada, appealing mainly to enthusiasts. The older model is priced at Rs. 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom), but the 70th anniversary edition may not make it to India due to pricing concerns and limited demand.

For fans of sporty motorcycles, the Yamaha R3 race edition and the anniversary edition are reminders of Yamaha’s commitment to blending performance with style. While the bike’s specs remain familiar, the special livery and subtle details make it a collector’s delight. International markets will get the first look in 2026, offering riders a chance to own a bike that celebrates Yamaha’s rich legacy in motorsports.
